Hexalith (Vitrified Hexagon) Tiles
Nature often supplies blueprints that we humans can barely improve on. Take the honeycomb, for example. The optimum ratio of wall material to volume is what makes honeycombs so stable. It is precisely for this reason that we chose the hexagonal honeycomb shape for the most hard-wearing of our fully vitrified tiles.
EXTRA HARD-WEARING
sUPREMELY PRACTICAL
Our Hexalith hexagonal tile is absolutely ideal for use in areas subject to high concentrations of wet chemicals or mechanical wear. Thanks to its shape and manufacturing process, it has no difficulty coping with the exacting demands of mechanical, thermal and chemical resistance. The vibration procedure used in the installation of Hexalith tiles makes them even more hard-wearing. And it should also be said that they are designed for fast and thorough cleaning – making them supreme in every way.

USER'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR TILE SAFETY
ENSURING SAFETY WITH ARGELITH TILES
At Argelith Ceramic Tiles, we prioritize safety and compliance with industry standards. While our tiles are designed to meet or exceed the Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) requirements outlined in ANSI A326.3, maintaining the safety and functionality of the tile surface is ultimately the end-user’s responsibility.
USER RESPONSIBILITY FOR MAINTENANCE AND COMPLIANCE
Although our tiles have a textured finish that offers slip resistance, they are not slip-proof. It is crucial for end-users to regularly clean, maintain, and monitor their tile installations to ensure continued safety. Following the guidelines set forth by ASTM F1637 and ANSI A1264.2 standards is essential to prevent slip-and-fall incidents. These standards provide the necessary framework for maintaining safe walking surfaces and ensuring slip resistance in working environments.
RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
- Regular Cleaning: Refer to the Argelith Cleaning Guidelines (link?) for detailed instructions on daily cleaning routines, including the use of neutral cleaners and proper equipment.
- Monitoring: Regular inspections should be conducted to assess slip resistance, with annual DCOF testing recommended to comply with ANSI A326.3.
- Use of Protective Measures: Placing walk-off mats at entrances and transitions between wet and dry areas can minimize the spread of contaminants and provide protection against slipping.
By adhering to these standards and maintaining your tile installation, you not only extend the life of your flooring but also ensure it remains a safe and functional surface for everyone.
